The Dispatcher        Do you know where your vehicles are?   The Dispatcher is used mainly for vehicle fleet tracking. The system tracks vehicles, dispatch orders, customers etc. This system estimates vehicle positions in real time, based on dispatch addresses and system speed. In addition, the system can be optionally integrated with different hardware systems for automatic communication and AVL.  The Dispatcher is a graphical windows base dispatching system. This is a software program intended for use by companies who need integrated dispatching system to control and track fleet of vehicles. Companies that could use this software include Taxi/Limousine, Police, EMS, Fire, Security, Delivery, and Courier Services. This software gives you better control over your fleet, reduces the workload of dispatchers and organizes your data.  The Dispatcher comes with the following features: Displays a map of control area with the current locations of your fleet! Allows you to zoom in to display more detail. Calculates the distance between two points on the map and estimates the time needed to reach from point to point. Notifies the dispatcher when Cars are available (based on starting time and destination). Stores incoming VOICE orders/requests and then "play back" when dispatching (no need to write orders/requests). Displays location of moving Cars in estimated real-time positions (Global Positioning System can be added as an option). Logs all dispatches for each Car ( including addresses, dispatch times, and other data). Prints dispatch data by Car/shift. Interfaces and transfers data with other software systems. Cellular communications.         Map Information/Car Data Folder When you position the arrow on any car which is on the map, the tab folder at the bottom would show the data of that particular car including the car number, origin, destination, icon file, special message, communicating status, communicating type, and communication number. Whenever you drag and move the car icon to another place, the GPS/POS time changes to the current time and the system updates its current location as though it received a GPS input.   To Input a New Dispatch Order When you click on the <Dispatch Entry> you will be presented with a blank dispatch entry form. To load existing customer information, enter either the customer number, name, or company in the corresponding field and then double click on the field (after inputting the required data). The required customer information then will appear. When you input telephone number, zip code or county, the system automatically figures out the approximate location and populates the city and state fields. After you input both pick-up and destination’s information, the system calculates the destination time, time require to arrive the destination, distance and price. After you fill in all the dispatch data, remember to click "Send to Dispatch" to send the information to the "Dispatch List". To schedule an order just press the "Schedule" button and the order information will be sent to a "Schedule List". The schedule option lets you schedule orders for later times (different days). When you input a new customer, you will be presented with an "Add Customer" button. To add the new customer information to your customer database, just click on the "Add Customer" (only new customers can be added, and a unique customer number must be assigned). To add the price quoted to your price table click on the "Price" button. The price will be added to your price database. Whenever you get the same origin and destination on next orders the stored price will be retrieved automatically. The pricing scheme is defined in the system menu and must be set prior to using the system (see "Price Module"). The price is calculated based on the pricing scheme and the pricing table. When a mileage scheme is selected the price is calculated based on the distance between the origin and destination addresses. The different pricing schemes are discussed later in the "Pricing Module" section. You can select a driver from the driver list only if you loaded the drivers in the "Shift" module.
